COMPETITION RULES OF DANCE OSTRAVA GRAND PRIX 2022

 

THE COMPETITION IS FOLLOWED BY THE RULES AND PROPOSITIONS ISSUED FOR THE DANCE OSTRAVA GRAND PRIX. 

DANCE OSTRAVA GRAND PRIX is an open competition and the dancers pays just ENTRY FEE.

PARTICIPATION IN THE COMPETITION: 

  • Czech citizens.
  • International participation.

 

PARTICIPANTS OF THE COMPETITION: 

Competitions DANCE OSTRAVA GRAND PRIX can be attended by all dancers regardless of the membership in any club, or dance organization, also without club affiliation. It is also not a condition to become a member of any club. Each dancer can participate as many times as he/she wants in his/her category.

CATEGORIES BY AGE: 

  • MINI - BABY - dancers who have maximum of 7 years of age on the day of the competition 
  • CHILDREN - Children's age category-dancers who have completed at least 8 years and the most 11 years of age on the day of the competition. Children may be included in the formation two years older, but their number may not exceed 50% of the total number of dancers of the formation.
  • JUNIORS - Juniors age category (JVK) - dancers who have a minimum of 12 years and a maximum of 15 years on the day of the competition. The formation may include two years younger, or two years older dancers, but the number must not exceed 50% of the total number of dancers of the formation.
  • YOUTH - An adult age category (DVK I) - dancers who have completed at least 16 years of age on the day of the competition and the most 18 years of age. It is possible to add to the formation two years younger dancers, but their number must not exceed 50% of the total number of dancers of the formation.
  • ADULTS - Adult age category (DVK II)-dancers who have completed at least 19 years on the day of the competition. The upper limit is not limited. It is possible to include dancers in the formation two years younger, but the number must not exceed 20% of the total number of dancers of the formation.

NUMBER OF DANCERS: 

  • SOLO - 1 dancer 
  • DUO - 2 dancers - gender undifferentiated 
  • COUPLE - 2 dancers - male and female 
  • TRIO - 3 dancers - gender undifferentiated
  • LITTLE FORMATION - 4 - 7 dancers 
  • GREAT FORMATION - 8 - 15 dancers 
  • SHOWCASES - 16 - 30 dancers

LENGHT OF PERFORMENCE:

  • SHOW SOLO 1:30-2:15 min. 
  • SOLO, DUO, TRIO 1:30-2:15 min. 
  • SMALL AND LARGE FORMATION 2:30-3:30 min. 
  • SHOWCASE 2:30-4:00 min

SOLOS AND DUOS TO THE MUSIC OF THE ORGANIZER 

  • MINI 0:30 min (disco dance, hip hop-1:00 min.) 
  • JVK, HVK, DUA 1:00 min.

DESCRIPTION OF DISCIPLINES:

• LATIN A CAREABBEAN STYLE – here are latin-american and caribbean  dances (samba, cha cha, rumba, paso doble, jive, salsa, bachata, merengue, cumbia, mambo). Show can be mixed from any of these dances. A Latino show must consist mostly of Latin American dances (samba, cha cha, rumba, paso doble, jive). Caribbean show must consist mostly of Caribbean dances (salsa, bachata, merengue, cumbia, mambo).

MUSIC for Show is prepared by dancers and must be given to th organizator before the begining of the competition.  For solo and duo competitions music is choosen by the oranizator.
DECORATIONS AND BACKDROPS are allowed in show.

• REGGAETON - It combines Latin American dances from the wild Caribbean with dancehall. Reggaeton mixes elements of reggae and dancehall with styles typical of Latin America, such as salsa, Latin pop, cumbia and bachata, as well as hip hop, R&B.
HUDBA – solo, duo a trio music by organizator. Small and large formation music prepared by dancers.

• STREET DANCE – all street dance styles

• SHOW ART A DANCE ART CHOREOGRAPHY – Using the elements of such a dance styles like jazz dance, contemporary ballet, modern dance. Elaboration of the theme in the style of the show, including costumes, decorations and backdrops.

BACKDROPS – yes

• SHOW DANCE – a dance style that combines parts from different dance styles. The possibility of using all dance elements. Elaboration of the theme in a show style, including costumes, props and backdrops.
HUDBA – prepared by dancers

KULISY – yes

• DISCO DANCE - Dance style full of energetic and dynamic movements with pulsating rhythms. Show element, turns, kicks etc. are allowed.

Music – prepared by dancers
Decorations – allowed
Backdrops – not allowed

• PRO – AM - Couple dance in styles lat and stt. One of the couple is professional dance, the other one is amateur.

Music – prepared by organizer
You can compete in each dance separately - samba chacha, rumba, paso doble, jive, salsa, bachata, merengue, waltz, slowfox, tango, quickstep. 
Contestant dance in one cathegory - doesn't matter the age or skills. 
You can use all the fugures, just except show figures. 
 

• ORIENTAL DANCE

1. Classic oriental dance and drum solo
Music – prepared by dancers
Decorations – allowed, the veil
Backdrops – not allowed

2. Fantasy and fusion – minimum 50% of oriental dance elements must be included
Music – prepared by dancers
Decorations – allowed
Backdrops – allowed

3. Folklor – for adults only.

• SCHOOL PRODUCTION

The choreography, when the number of dancers is at least 20 – 99 maximum. Age or dance styles are not limited. The condition is necessary the participation of dancers from at least two different ages (mini-baby, kids, juniors, teenagers or adults). It cannot be that all the dancers will be from one age category. This category is ideal for the show the whole dance school.

  • PRO-AM – couple
  • HIP HOP – small and large formation
  • STREET DANCE – small and large formation 

ENTRY FEE: 

Entry fee you pay for each discipline and it is 250czk. The most you pay for 5 disciplines and the others are without entry fee. 
It is 10 Euros for one discipline and maximum you can pay is 50 Euros for 5 and more disciplines. 

 

All the dancers with heels must have the protectors on them. 

By registration to the competition you agree with taking pictures and videos, which will be used for presentation on our social networks and websites www.danceostrava.eu a www.tkpierroforte.cz 

We will respect and comply with all the governments ' regulations regarding COVID, which will be valid for the time being.
